　以色列全會眾都遵耶和華的吩咐、按著站口從汛的曠野往前行、在利非訂安營．百姓沒有水喝、

　以色列全體會眾都照著耶和華的吩咐，一站一站，從汛的曠野起程，在利非訂安營。在那裏人民沒有水喝。

　以色列民眾照著上帝的命令，從汛的荒野起程，按著站口前行，來到利非訂安營，可是，那裏卻沒有水源。

Exodus 17：1（KJV）

　And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.

Exodus 17：1（NIV）

　 The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as the LORD commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink.

　所以與摩西爭鬧、說、給我們水喝罷。摩西對他們說、你們為甚麼與我爭鬧、為甚麼試探耶和華呢。

　因此人民與摩西爭吵，說：「給我們水喝吧。」摩西對他們說：「你們為甚麼與我爭吵呢﹖你們為甚麼試探耶和華呢﹖」

　民眾便上前跟摩西爭吵，要他給他們水喝。摩西便對他們說：「你們跟我爭鬧有甚麼用呢？難道你們想惹動上帝的怒氣嗎？」

　Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?

Exodus 17：2（NIV）

　So they quarreled with Moses and said, "Give us water to drink." Moses replied, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the LORD to the test?"

　百姓在那裏甚渴、要喝水、就向摩西發怨言、說、你為甚麼將我們從埃及領出來、使我們和我們的兒女並牲畜都渴死呢。

　人民在那裏渴望得水喝，就向摩西發怨言，說：「你為甚麼把我們從埃及領上來，使我們和我們的兒女，以及我們的牲畜都渴死呢﹖」

　然而，民眾實在非常口渴，於是他們便向摩西發怨言說：「你為甚麼要領我們出埃及，讓我們一家大小和牲畜都在這裏渴死啊？」

　And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?

Exodus 17：3（NIV）

　But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, "Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?"

　摩西就呼求耶和華說、我向這百姓怎樣行呢、他們幾乎要拿石頭打死我。

　摩西向耶和華呼求，說：「我要怎樣對待這人民呢﹖他們幾乎要用石頭打死我了。」

　摩西就向上帝呼求說：「上帝啊，我該怎麼辦呢？他們快要拿石塊打死我了！」

　And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.

　Then Moses cried out to the LORD, "What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me."

　耶和華對摩西說、你手裏拿著你先前擊打河水的杖、帶領以色列的幾個長老、從百姓面前走過去。

　耶和華對摩西說：「你要到人民的面前，要帶著以色列的幾個長老和你一起，手裏拿要著你先前擊打河水的杖。

　上帝對摩西說：「你帶著先前擊打尼羅河水的扙，率領以色列的幾個長老走在眾人前頭，到何烈山去。

　And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.

　The LORD answered Moses,"Walk on ahead of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go.

　我必在何烈的磐石那裏站在你面前．你要擊打磐石、從磐石裏必有水流出來、使百姓可以喝。 摩西就在以色列的長老眼前這樣行了。

　看哪，我必在何烈山那裏的磐石上站在你面前；你要擊打磐石，就必有水從磐石流出來，使人民可以喝。」 摩西就在以色列的長老眼前這樣行了。

　我就在何烈的磐石那裏等候你們，你用杖擊打磐石，磐石裏就必定有水流出來給眾人喝。」於是，摩西便依照上帝的指示在以色列的長老面前照樣行。

　Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, andthere shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

Exodus 17：6（NIV）

　I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink." So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.

　他給那地方起名叫瑪撒、〔就是『試探』的意思〕又叫米利巴、〔就是『爭鬧』的意思〕因以色列人爭鬧、又因他們試探耶和華說、耶和華是在我們中間不是。

　他給那地方起名叫瑪撒，又叫米利巴，因為以色列人在那裏爭吵，又因為他們試探耶和華，說：「耶和華是不是在我們中間呢﹖」

　摩西把那地方命名為瑪撒，就是試探的意思；此外，他們又叫那地方作米利巴，就是爭鬧的意思。因為民眾在那裏吵鬧，又試探上帝，看祂是不是真的照顧他們。

　And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?

　And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the LORD saying, "Is the LORD among us or not?"

與亞瑪力人作戰

　那時亞瑪力人來在利非訂、和以色列人爭戰。

The Amalekites Defeated（Exo 17：8-16）

　Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

　The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim.

　摩西對約書亞說、你為我們選出人來、出去和亞瑪力人爭戰．明天我手裏要拿著　神的杖、站在山頂上。

　摩西對約書亞說：「你要為我們選出人來，出去和亞瑪力人爭戰；明天我要站在山頂上，手裏拿著　神的杖。」

　摩西對約書亞說：「你在民眾中選出人來對抗亞瑪力人吧！明天，我會帶著上帝給我的手杖站在山頂上。」

　And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.

　Moses said to Joshua, "Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands."

　When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up--one on one side, one on the other--so that his hands remained steady till sunset.
