申 25:1--國語和合本

 人若有爭訟、來聽審判、審判官就要定義人有理、定惡人有罪。

申 25:1--中文新譯本

 如果人與人之間有爭訟的事,就上法庭去;審判官審判他們的時候,要定義人有理,定惡人有罪;

申 25:1--當代中譯本

 「倘若有人被審判官判定有罪,便要受鞭打,

 If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.

 兄弟住在一起,他們中間如果有一個死了,沒有留下兒子,死者的妻子不就可出嫁外人;她丈夫的兄弟要向她盡兄弟的本分,娶她為妻,和她同房。

 那人如果不喜歡娶他兄弟的妻子,他兄弟的妻就要到城門去見長老,說:『我丈夫的兄弟不肯在以色列中為自己的哥哥立名,不肯對給我盡兄弟的本分。』

 但倘若他的兄弟拒絕履行他的責任不娶那寡婦為妻,她就可以到城裡的長老那裡去,對他們說:『我丈夫的兄弟不肯娶我,不讓我丈年的名字傳留下去。

 And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother.
