書1:1（NCV）耶和華的僕人摩西死了以後，耶和華吩咐摩西的侍從，嫩的兒子約書亞，說：

書1:1（CLV）上帝的僕人摩西死了以後，上帝就對摩西的助手嫩的兒子約書亞說：

書1:2（CUV）我的僕人摩西死了．現在你要起來、和眾百姓過這約但河、往我所要賜給以色列人的地去。

書1:2（NCV）「我的僕人摩西死了；現在你要起來，和全體人民過這約旦河，到我現在要賜給他們以色列人的地去。

書1:11（NCV）「你們要走遍營中，吩咐人民說：『你們要預備食物，因為三天之內，你們要過這約旦河，進去得耶和華你們的　神要賜你們作為產業的地。』」

書1:11（CLV）「你們走遍全營，吩咐大家各自預備好糧食，因為三天之內，你們便要過約旦河，去佔領主你們的上帝賜給你們的土地了。」

Joshua 1:1（KJV）　Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua ua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

Joshua 1:1 （NIV）　After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' aide:

Joshua 1:2（KJV）　Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto theland which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

Joshua 1:2（NIV）　"Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them--to the Israelites.

Joshua 1:3（KJV）　Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

Joshua 1:3（NIV）　I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.

Joshua 1:4（KJV）　From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

Joshua 1:4（NIV）　Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates--all the Hittite country--to the Great Sea on the west.

Joshua 1:5（KJV）　There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Joshua 1:5（NIV）　No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Joshua 1:6（KJV）　Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Joshua 1:6（NIV）　Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them.

Joshua 1:7（KJV）　Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

Joshua 1:7（NIV）　Be strong and very courageous. Becareful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.

Joshua 1:8（KJV）　This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Joshua 1:8（NIV）　Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on itday and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Joshua 1:9（KJV）　Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Joshua 1:9（NIV）　Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

Joshua 1:10（KJV）　Then Joshua ua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

Joshua 1:10（NIV）　So Joshua ordered the officers of the people:

Joshua 1:11（KJV）　Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.

Joshua 1:11（NIV）　"Go through the camp and tell the people, 'Get your supplies ready. Three days from now you will cross the Jordan here to go in and take possession of the land the LORD your God is giving you for your own.'"

Joshua 1:12（KJV）　And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spake Joshua ua, saying,

Joshua 1:12（NIV）　But to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joshua said,

Joshua 1:13（KJV）　Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.

Joshua 1:13（NIV）　"Remember the command that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: 'The LORD your God is giving you rest and has granted you this land.'

Joshua 1:14（KJV）　Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;

Joshua 1:14（NIV）　Your wives, your children and your livestock may stay in the land that Moses gave you east of the Jordan, but all your fighting men, fully armed, must cross over ahead of your brothers. You are to help your brothers

Joshua 1:15（KJV）　Until the LORD have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the LORD your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the LORD's servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.

Joshua 1:15（NIV）　until the LORD gives them rest, as he has done for you, and until they too have taken possession of the land that the LORD your God is giving them. After that, you may go back and occupy your own land, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you east of the Jordan toward the sunrise."

Joshua 1:16（KJV）　And they answered Joshua ua, saying, All that thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go.

Joshua 1:17（KJV）　According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only the LORD thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.

Joshua 1:16（NIV）　Then they answered Joshua, "Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.

Joshua 1:17（NIV）　Just as we fully obeyed Moses, so we will obey you. Only may the LORD your God be with you as he was with Moses.

Joshua 1:18（KJV）　Whosoever he be that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.

Joshua 1:18（NIV）　Whoever rebels against your word and does not obey your words, whatever you may command them, will be put to death. Only be strong and courageous!"
