箴1:1（CLV）以下是大衛的兒子、以色列王所羅門的箴言。他寫這些箴言的目的是：

箴1:2（CUV）要使人曉得智慧和訓誨．分辨通達的言語．

箴1:2（NCV）要使人曉得智慧和教訓，了解充滿哲理的言語；

箴1:2（CLV）叫人認識智慧，得著教訓，明白哲理；

Prv 1:22（KJV）　How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

Prv 1:22（NIV）　"How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?

Prv 1:23（KJV）　Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Prv 1:23（NIV）　If you had responded to my rebuke, I would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you.

Prv 1:24（KJV）　Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
