傳1:1(NCV)以下是傳道者,就是在耶路撒冷作王、大衛的兒子所說的話。●

傳1:1(CLV)我是大衛的兒子,耶路撒冷的王,現在以傳道人的身分和大家一同作人生之探索:●

 

萬事令人厭倦都是虛空

日光之下沒有新事

(傳1:2-11

傳1:2(CUV)傳道者說、虛空的虛空、虛空的虛空.凡事都是虛空。

傳1:2(NCV)傳道者說:虛空的虛空。虛空的虛空,一切都是虛空。

傳1:2(CLV)在我看來,一切都是泡影,一切都是徒勞的。

傳1:3(CUV)人一切的勞碌、就是他在日光之下的勞碌、有甚麼益處呢。

傳1:3(NCV)人的一切勞碌,就是他在日光之下的勞碌,對自己有甚麼益處呢﹖

傳1:3(CLV)人在日光之下,即使辛勤工作,又有甚麼益處呢?

傳1:4(CUV)一代過去、一代又來.地卻永遠長存。

傳1:4(CLV)時代不斷更替,大地卻絲毫沒有改變。

傳1:8(CUV)萬事令人厭煩.〔或作『萬物滿有困乏』〕人不能說盡.眼看、看不飽、耳聽、聽不足。

傳1:8(NCV)萬事都令人厭倦,人說,說不盡;眼看,看不飽;耳聽,聽不足。

傳1:8(CLV)這一切使人厭煩的事,實在不可言喻,縱然放眼觀看,聳耳聆聽,也不得滿足。

傳1:9(CUV)已有的事、後必再有.已行的事後必再行.日光之下並無新事。

傳1:9(NCV)已有的事必再有,已過的事必再作;日光之下並無新事。

傳1:9(CLV)過往曾發生的事,將來也必再發生,先前做過的,將來也必再做。在日光之下,根本沒有新奇的事。

傳1:10(CUV)豈有一件事人能指說、這是新的.那知、在我們以前的世代、早已有了。

傳1:10(NCV)有甚麼事人可以說:「看啊!這是新的」?其實,很久之前已經有了,在我們之前早就有了。

傳1:10(CLV)你能告訴我那一件事是新的嗎?沒有。它們早在我們以前已經存在了。

傳1:11(CUV)已過的世代、無人記念、將來的世代、後來的人也不記念。●

傳1:11(NCV)以前的事,無人記念;將來的事,後來的人也不知道。●

傳1:11(CLV)過去的事那麼容易被人遺忘,將來的事也定必如此;這一切的事,必不為後人記念。●

 

智慧知識都是虛空

(傳1:12-18

都是枉然有如捕風

傳1:12(CUV)我傳道者在耶路撒冷作過以色列的王。

傳1:12(NCV)那時,我傳道者在耶路撒冷作以色列的王。

傳1:12(CLV)身為傳道者的我,曾經在耶路撒冷作以色列的王。

傳1:13(CUV)我專心用智慧尋求查究天下所作的一切事、乃知 神叫世人所經練的、是極重的勞苦。

傳1:13(NCV)我曾用智慧專心尋求查究天下所發生的一切事;原來 神給予世人的,是勞苦的擔子,叫他們為此煩惱。

傳1:13(CLV)我曾一心一意運用智慧去探究天下各樣的事物,這是上帝給人一項極艱辛的工作。

傳1:14(CUV)我見日光之下所作的一切事、都是虛空、都是捕風。

傳1:14(NCV)我見過日光之下所發生的一切事,不料,一切都是虛空,都是捕風。

傳1:14(CLV)我曾觀察一切在日光之下的工作,看!這些都是枉然費力,有如捕風一樣。

傳1:15(CUV)彎曲的不能變直.缺少的不能足數。

傳1:15(NCV)彎曲的,不能弄直;缺少的,不能算數。

傳1:15(CLV)彎曲的不能變成筆直,缺少的不能算為充足。

傳1:16(CUV)我心裏議論說、我得了大智慧、勝過我以前在耶路撒冷的人.而且我心中多經歷智慧、和知識的事。

傳1:16(NCV)我自己心裏說:「我得了極大的智慧,勝過所有在我以前統治耶路撒冷的人;我見識了許多智慧與知識。」

傳1:16(CLV)於是我自豪地說:「看,我的智慧深廣,遠超過耶路撒冷以前所有的王;我的心靈得到豐富的智慧和知識。」

傳1:17(CUV)我又專心察明智慧、狂妄、和愚昧.乃知這也是捕風。

傳1:17(NCV)我又專究察智慧和佑識,狂妄和愚昧,才知道這也是捕風。

傳1:17(CLV)我又專心去察明智慧以及瘋狂和愚蠢之間的分別,就發覺這種尋索也像捕風一樣。

傳1:18(CUV)因為多有智慧、就多有煩愁.加增知識的、就增加憂傷。●

傳1:18(NCV)因為多有智慧,就多有煩惱;加增知識,就增加痛苦。●

Eccl 1:2(KJV)Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.

Eccl 1:2(NIV)"Meaningless! Meaningless!" says the Teacher. "Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless."

 

Eccl 1:3(KJV)What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?

Eccl 1:3(NIV)What does man gain from all his labor at which he toils under the sun?

Eccl 1:4(KJV)One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

Eccl 1:4(NIV)Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever.

Eccl 1:5(KJV)The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.

Wisom is MeaninglessECC1:12-18

Eccl 1:12(KJV)I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem.

Eccl 1:12(NIV)I, the Teacher, was king over Israel in Jerusalem.

Eccl 1:13(KJV)And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.

Eccl 1:13(NIV)I devoted myself to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under heaven. What a heavy burden God has laid on men!

Eccl 1:14(KJV)I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Eccl 1:14(NIV)I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

Eccl 1:15(KJV)That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered.

Eccl 1:17(KJV)And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.

Eccl 1:17(NIV)Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind.
