拿1:1（NCV）耶和華的話臨到亞米太的兒子約拿，說：

拿1:1（CLV）以下是主對亞米太的兒子約拿所說的話：

拿1:2（CUV）你起來往尼尼微大城去、向其中的居民呼喊．因為他們的惡達到我面前。●

拿1:2（NCV）「起來！到尼尼微大城去，警告其中的居民，因為他們的惡行已經達到我面前。」●

拿1:2（CLV）「你起程到尼尼微這個大城去，高聲叱罵那裏的居民，因為他們惡蹟昭彰，所以，我要消滅他們。」●

拿1:3（CUV）約拿卻起來、逃往他施去躲避耶和華．下到約帕、遇見一隻船、要往 他施去．他就給了船價、上了船、要與船上的人同往他施去躲避耶和華。●

拿1:3（NCV）可是約拿卻起來，要逃往他施去，躲避耶和華；他下到約帕，找到了一隻要開往 他施去的船；他給了錢，就上船〔『上船』原文作『下船』〕，要和他們同往他施去，離開耶和華。●

拿1:4（CUV）然而耶和華使海中起大風、海就狂風大作、甚至船幾乎破壞．

拿1:4（NCV）但是耶和華在海上忽然颳起大風，於是海中狂風大作，船幾乎破破裂了。

拿1:4（CLV）船正在航行的時候，上帝突然使海面風浪大作，拋得船就要沉沒了。

拿1:5（CUV）水手便懼怕、各人哀求自己的神．他們將船上的貨物拋在海中、為要使船輕些。約拿已下到底艙、躺臥、沉睡。

拿1:5（NCV）水手都很懼怕，各人向自己的神大聲呼求；他們為了減輕船的重量，就把船上的東西拋在海裏，可是 約拿卻下了船艙，躺著熟睡了。

拿1:5（CLV）水手非常害怕，嚇得呼天搶地，他們紛紛呼求自己的神，又把船上的貨物全都拋進海裏去，以減輕載重量。這時候， 約拿正躺在船艙裏睡覺。

拿1:6（CUV）船主到他那裏對他說、你這沉睡的人哪、為何這樣呢、起來、求告你的神、或者神顧念我們、使我們不至滅亡。●

拿1:6（NCV）船長走到他面前，對他說：「你怎麼啦！睡得那麼熟？快起來，求告你的　神吧！或者　神會記念我們，使我們不至於喪命。」●

拿1:6（CLV）船長來到約拿身邊怒吼說：「你這個人怎麼搞的！這時候還在睡覺！快起來求你的神吧，也許祂會憐憫我們，饒我們一命呢。」●

約拿受罰（拿1:6-17）

拿1:7（CUV）船上的人彼此說、來罷、我們掣籤、看看這災臨到我們是因誰的緣故．於是他們掣籤、掣出 約拿來。

拿1:7（NCV）水手就彼此說：「來吧！讓我們抽籤，好知道這場災禍臨到我們，是因誰的緣故。」於是他們抽籤，結果抽中了 約拿。

拿1:7（CLV）後來，船上的人就彼此商量說：「來，我們抽籤，看看是誰觸怒了神靈，惹來這場可怕的風浪吧。」於是他們就抽籤，結果抽中了 約拿。

拿1:8（CUV）眾人對他說、請你告訴我們、這災臨到我們是因誰的緣故．你以何事為業．你從那裏來．你是那一國、屬那一族的人。

拿1:8（NCV）他們就對約拿說：「請告訴我們，這場災禍臨到我們，是因誰的緣故﹖你是作甚麼的﹖你從哪裏來﹖你是哪一國的人﹖哪一族的人﹖」

拿1:8（CLV）眾人就質問他說：「你幹了甚麼壞事，惹來了這場風暴呢？你是甚麼人？你是幹哪一行的？從哪裏來？是哪一國的人？」

拿1:9（CUV）他說、我是希伯來人．我敬畏耶和華、那創造滄海旱地之天上的　神。

拿1:9（NCV）他回答說：「我是希伯來人，我敬畏耶和華天上的　神，就是那創造海洋和陸地的。」

拿1:9（CLV）約拿回答說：「我是希伯來人，我敬拜的是耶和華，祂是那創造海洋陸地、掌管天地萬物的上帝。」

拿1:10（CUV）他們就大大懼怕、對他說、你作的是甚麼事呢．他們已經知道他躲避耶和華、因為他告訴了他們。 ●

拿1:10（NCV）眾人就大大懼怕，對他說：「你為甚麼這樣作呢﹖〔『你為甚麼這樣作呢﹖』或譯：『你作的是甚麼呢？』〕」那些人知道他躲避耶和華，原來 約拿告訴了他們。●

拿1:10（CLV）之後，他又把怎樣逃避主的事和盤托出。●

約拿見投於海

（拿1:11-16）

拿1:11（CUV）他們問他說、我們當向你怎樣行、使海浪平靜呢．這話是因海浪越發翻騰。

拿1:11（NCV）因為海浪越來越洶湧，他們又對他說：「我們該怎麼處置你，才能叫海浪平靜呢﹖」

拿1:11（CLV）大家聽了，就更加怕得要命，他們對約拿說：「你為甚麼這樣做呢？我們要怎樣處置你，才能使風浪平靜呢？」那時，風勢愈來愈大，浪也愈翻愈高。

拿1:12（CUV）他對他們說、你們將我抬起來、拋在海中、海就平靜了．我知道你們遭這大風、是因我的緣故。

拿1:12（NCV）他回答說：「你們把我抬起來，投在海裏，海浪就會平靜，因為我知道，這場大風暴臨到你們，是為了我的緣故。」

拿1:12（CLV）最後，約拿只好對他們說：「我知道這場風暴是由我而起的，你們把我拋進海裏去，風浪就自然會平靜了。」

拿1:13（CUV）然而那些人竭力盪槳、要把船攏岸、卻是不能．因為海浪越發向他們翻騰。

拿1:13（NCV）那些人雖然破浪掙扎，要把船靠岸，卻是不能，因為海浪不斷洶湧撲來。

拿1:13（CLV）他雖然這樣說，但船上的人還是拚命搖櫓，希望把船搖近岸邊，可是，他們費盡九牛二虎之力還是不能，因為風浪實在太大了。

拿1:14（CUV）他們便求告耶和華說、耶和華阿、我們懇求你、不要因這人的性命使我們死亡、不要使流無辜血的罪歸與我們．因為你耶和華是隨自己的意旨行事。

拿1:14（NCV）他們就呼求耶和華，說：「耶和華啊！我們懇求你，不要因這人叫我們喪命；不要把無辜人的血歸在我們身上，因為你耶和華是照自己所喜悅的行事。」

拿1:14（CLV）最後，他們就只好呼求耶和華、約拿的上帝，說：「耶和華啊，求求你不要因這個人的罪而殃及我們吧，我們是無辜的，這事是你自己的旨意啊。」

拿1:15（CUV）他們遂將約拿抬起、拋在海中、海的狂浪就平息了。

拿1:15（NCV）於是他們把約拿抬起來，投在海裏，怒濤就平息了。

拿1:15（CLV）他們說完了就抬起約拿，把他拋進洶湧的海浪裏，之後，風浪就立刻平靜下來了。

拿1:17（CUV）耶和華安排一條大魚吞了約拿、他在魚腹中三日、三夜。 ●

拿1:17（CLV）約拿被拋下海後，上帝就安排了一條大魚，把他吞下，他就這樣在魚腹裏度過了三個晝夜。

Jonah Flees From the LOAD

Jonah 1:1（KJV）Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,

Jonah 1:1（NIV）The word of the LORD came to Jonah son of Amittai:

Jonah 1:2（KJV）Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

Jonah 1:2（NIV）"Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me."

Jonah 1:3（KJV）But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.

Jonah 1:3（NIV）But Jonah ran away from the LORD and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the LORD.

Jonah 1:4（KJV）But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.

Jonah 1:4（NIV）Then the LORD sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up.

Jonah 1:5（KJV）Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep.

Jonah 1:5（NIV）All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship. But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep.

Jonah 1:6（KJV）So the shipmaster came to him, and said unto him, What meanest thou, O sleeper? arise, call upon thy God, if so be that God will think upon us, that we perish not.

Jonah 1:6（NIV）The captain went to him and said, "How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us, and we will not perish."

Jonah 1:7（KJV）And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah .

Jonah 1:7（NIV）Then the sailors said to each other, "Come, let us cast lots to find out who is responsible for this calamity." They cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah.

Jonah 1:8（KJV）Then said they unto him, Tell us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil is upon us; What is thine occupation? and whence comest thou? what is thy country? and of what people art thou?

Jonah 1:8（NIV）So they asked him, "Tell us, who is responsible for making all this trouble for us? What do you do? Where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?"

Jonah 1:9（KJV）And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land.

Jonah 1:9（NIV）He answered, "I am a Hebrew and I worship the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the land."

Jonah 1:10（KJV）Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him, Why hast thou done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them.

Jonah 1:10（NIV）This terrified them and they asked, "What have you done?" (They knew he was running away from the LORD, because he had already told them so.)

Jonah 1:11（KJV）Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous.

Jonah 1:11（NIV）The sea was getting rougher and rougher. So they asked him, "What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?"

Jonah 1:12（KJV）And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you.

Jonah 1:12（NIV）"Pick me up and throw me into the sea," he replied, "and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you."

Jonah 1:13（KJV）Nevertheless the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not: for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous against them.

Jonah 1:13（NIV）Instead, the men did their best to row back to land. But they could not, for the sea grew even wilder than before.

Jonah 1:14（KJV）Wherefore they cried unto the LORD, and said, We beseech thee, O LORD, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O LORD, hast done as it pleased thee.

Jonah 1:14（NIV）Then they cried to the LORD, "O LORD, please do not let us die for taking this man's life. Do not hold us accountable for killing an innocent man, for you, O LORD, have done as you pleased."

Jonah 1:15（KJV）So they took up Jonah , and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.

Jonah 1:15（NIV）Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm.

Jonah 1:16（KJV）Then the men feared the LORD exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the LORD, and made vows.

Jonah 1:16（NIV）At this the men greatly feared the LORD, and they offered a sacrifice to the LORD and made vows to him.

Jonah 1:17（KJV）Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah . And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Jonah 1:17（NIV）But the LORD provided a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was inside the fish three days and three nights.
