番1:1（CUV）當猶大王亞們的兒子約西亞在位的時候、耶和華的話臨到 希西家的元孫亞瑪利雅的曾孫、基大利的孫子古示的兒子西番雅。●

耶和華宣布審判

（番1:2-6）

番1:2（CUV）耶和華說、我必從地上除滅萬類。

番1:3（NCV）耶和華說：「我必除滅人類、牲畜、空中飛鳥、海裏的魚。我必使惡人跌倒，我必把人類從地上剪除。

番1:7（CUV）你要在主耶和華面前靜默無聲、因為耶和華的日子快到．耶和華已經豫備祭物、將他的客分別為聖。

番1:7（NCV）你要在我主耶和華面前肅靜！因為耶和華的日子臨近了，因為耶和華已經預備了祭物，把自己所請來的人分別為聖。

番1:7（CLV）你要在主上帝面前肅靜，因為審判的時候快到了。主準備將祂的子民當作祭物宰掉，劊子手亦已經選定了。

番1:8（CUV）到了我耶和華獻祭的日子、必懲罰首領、和王子、並一切穿外邦衣服的。

番1:8（NCV）到了我耶和華獻祭的日子，我必懲罰首領和王子，懲罰所有穿外族衣服的人。

番1:8（CLV）主說：「在審判的日子，我要懲罰猶大的領袖、王子和所有愛穿外族服飾、仿效外邦習俗的人。

番1:9（CUV）到那日我必懲罰一切跳過門檻、將強暴和詭詐得來之物充滿主人房屋的。

番1:9（NCV）到那日，我必懲罰所有跳過門檻的，所有使強暴和欺詐充滿主人房屋的。」

番1:9（CLV）我也要懲罰那些把以暴力和欺詐所得來的東西塞滿主人倉庫的人。

番1:10（CUV）耶和華說、當那日從魚門必發出悲哀的聲音、從二城發出哀號的聲音、從山間發出大破裂的響聲。

番1:10（NCV）耶和華說：「到那日，必有呼叫的聲音從魚門發出來，必有哀號從新區發出來，必有崩裂巨響從山間發出來。

番1:10（CLV）到那天，從耶路撒冷遠處的魚門會傳來哀哭的聲音，第二區也會傳出哀號，山間也發出隆隆的巨響。

番1:11（CUV）瑪革提施的居民哪、你們要哀號、因為迦南的商民都滅亡了．凡搬運銀子的都被剪除。

番1:11（NCV）瑪革提施的居民哪！你們要哀號；因為所有的商人都滅亡了；所有稱銀子的都被剪除了。

番1:11（CLV）瑪革提施的居民啊，你們哀哭吧！因為你們當中所有貪婪的奸商和以高利貸謀利的都要受死了。

番1:12（CUV）那時、我必用燈巡查耶路撒冷．我必懲罰那些如酒在渣滓上澄清的．他們心裏說、耶和華必不降福、也不降禍。

番1:12（NCV）那時，我必用燈搜查耶路撒冷，懲罰那些沉澱在酒渣上的人。這些人心裏說：『耶和華必不降福，也不降禍。』

番1:12（CLV）那時，我必提燈上耶路撒冷黑暗的角落搜索，凡是沉溺在罪中、麻木不仁或心裏以為我不會賞善罰惡的人，我都要嚴加懲辦。

番1:13（CUV）他們的財寶、必成為掠物、他們的房屋、必變為荒場．他們必建造房屋、卻不得住在其內、栽種葡萄園、卻不得喝所出的酒。●

番1:13（NCV）他們的財寶必成為掠物；他們的房屋必變為廢墟。他們建造房屋，卻不得住在其中；他們栽植葡萄園，卻不得喝所出的酒。」●

番1:14（NCV）耶和華的大日子臨近了，臨近了，來得非常快速。聽！耶和華的日子的聲音。在那日，勇士要哀痛地號叫。

番1:14（CLV）上帝那叫人觸目驚心的大日子很快就要來到了，那是痛苦的日子，到那時，就是勇士也要失聲痛哭。

番1:15（CUV）那日是忿怒的日子、是急難困苦的日子、是荒廢淒涼的日子、是黑暗幽冥、密雲烏黑的日子、

Zeph 1:1（NIV）The word of the LORD that came to Zephaniah son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, during the reign of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah:

Warning of Coming Destruction

（Zep 1:2-3）

Zeph 1:2（KJV）I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD.

Zeph 1:2（NIV）"I will sweep away everything from the face of the earth," declares the LORD.

Zeph 1:3（KJV）I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumbling blocks with the wicked: and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD.

Zeph 1:3（NIV）"I will sweep away both men and animals; I will sweep away the birds of the air and the fish of the sea. The wicked will have only heaps of rubble when I cut off man from the face of the earth," declares the LORD.

Against Judah（Zep 1:4-13）

Zeph 1:4（KJV）I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;

Zeph 1:4（NIV）"I will stretch out my hand against Judah and against all who live in Jerusalem. I will cut off from this place every remnant of Baal, the names of the pagan and the idolatrous priests--

Zeph 1:5（KJV）And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;

Zeph 1:5（NIV）those who bow down on the roofs to worship the starry host, those who bow down and swear by the LORD and who also swear by Molech,

Zeph 1:6（KJV）And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.

Zeph 1:6（NIV）those who turn back from following the LORD and neither seek the LORD nor inquire of him.

Zeph 1:7（KJV）Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.

Zeph 1:7（NIV）Be silent before the Sovereign LORD, for the day of the LORD is near. The LORD has prepared a sacrifice; he has consecrated those he has invited.

Zeph 1:8（KJV）And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD's sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.

Zeph 1:8（NIV）On the day of the LORD'S sacrifice I will punish the princes and the king's sons and all those clad in foreign clothes.

Zeph 1:9（KJV）In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.

Zeph 1:10（NIV）"On that day," declares the LORD,"a cry will go up from the Fish Gate, wailing from the New Quarter, and a loud crash from the hills.

Zeph 1:11（KJV）Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.

Zeph 1:11（NIV）Wail, you who live in the market district; all your merchants will be wiped out, all who trade with silver will be ruined.

Zeph 1:12（KJV）And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.

Zeph 1:12（NIV）At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps and punish those who are complacent, who are like wine left on its dregs, who think, 'The LORD will do nothing, either good or bad.'

Zeph 1:13（KJV）Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.

Zeph 1:13（NIV）Their wealth will be plundered, their houses demolished. They will build houses but not live in them; they will plant vineyards but not drink the wine.

The Great Day of the LORD

（Zep 1:14-18）

Zeph 1:14（KJV）The great dayof the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

Zeph 1:14（NIV）"The great day of the LORD is near--near and coming quickly. Listen! The cry on the day of the LORD will bebitter, the shouting of the warrior there.

Zeph 1:15（KJV） That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

Zeph 1:15（NIV）That day will be aday of wrath, a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness,

Zeph 1:16（KJV）A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.

Zeph 1:17（KJV）And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.

Zeph 1:17（NIV）I will bring distress on the people and they will walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD. Their blood will be poured out like dust and their entrails like filth.

Zeph 1:18（KJV）Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

Zeph 1:18（NIV）Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the LORD'S wrath. In the fire of his jealousy the whole world will be consumed, for he will make a sudden end of all who live in the earth."
