創16:1（UCV）【撒萊苦待夏甲】亞伯蘭的妻子撒萊不給他生兒女。撒萊有一個使女名叫夏甲，是埃及人。

創16:1（NCV）【夏甲與以實瑪利】亞伯蘭的妻子撒萊，沒有為他生孩子。撒萊卻有一個婢女，是埃及人，名叫夏甲。

創16:1（CLV）亞伯蘭的妻子撒萊沒有生育，她有一個侍女，名叫夏甲，是個埃及人。

Genesis 16:1（KJV）Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.

Genesis 16:1（NIV）【Hagar and Ishmael】 Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar;

創16:2（UCV）撒萊對亞伯蘭說：「耶和華使我不能生育。求你和我的使女同房，或者我可以因她得孩子〔『得孩子』原文作『被建立』〕。」亞伯蘭聽從了撒萊的話。

Genesis 16:2（KJV）And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.

Genesis 16:2（NIV）so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her." Abram agreed to what Sarai said.

創16:3（UCV）於是亞伯蘭的妻子撒萊將使女埃及人夏甲給了丈夫為妾，那時亞伯蘭在迦南已經住了十年。

創16:3（NCV）亞伯蘭在迦南地住滿了十年，他的妻子撒萊，把自已的婢女埃及人夏甲，給了她的丈夫亞伯蘭為妾。

Genesis 16:3（KJV）And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.

Genesis 16:3（NIV）So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife.

創16:4（UCV）亞伯蘭與夏甲同房，夏甲就懷了孕；她見自己有孕，就小看她的主母。

Genesis 16:4（KJV）And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.

Genesis 16:4（NIV）He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress.

創16:5（UCV）撒萊對亞伯蘭說：「我因你受屈。我將我的使女放在你懷中，她見自己有了孕，就小看我。願耶和華在你我中間判斷。」

創16:5（NCV）撒萊對亞伯蘭說：「我因你受屈；我把我的婢女送到你的懷中，她見自己有了孕，就輕看我。願耶和華在你我之間主持公道。」

創16:5（CLV）撒萊埋怨亞伯蘭說：「我的冤氣應當由你來承受，我把侍女給你作妾，她仗著自己懷了孕，就輕視我，願主在你我之間主持公道。」

Genesis 16:5（KJV）And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee.

Genesis 16:5（NIV）Then Sarai said to Abram, "You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the LORD judge between you and me."

創16:6（UCV）亞伯蘭對撒萊說：「使女在你手下，你可以隨意待她。」撒萊苦待她，她就從撒萊面前逃走了。

創16:6（NCV）亞伯蘭對撒萊說：「你的婢女在你手中，你看怎樣好，就怎樣待她吧。」於是撒萊虐待夏甲，她就從撒萊面前逃走了。

創16:6（CLV）亞伯蘭對撒萊說：「侍女是由你管的，隨便你怎樣待她好了。」於是，撒萊就苦待她，夏甲因此就逃走了。

Genesis 16:6（KJV）But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.

Genesis 16:6（NIV）"Your servant is in your hands," Abram said. "Do with her whatever you think best." Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.

創16:7（UCV）耶和華的使者在曠野書珥路上的水泉旁遇見她，

Genesis 16:7（KJV）And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.

Genesis 16:7（NIV）The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur.

創16:8（UCV）對她說：「撒萊的使女夏甲，你從那裡來？要往那裡去？」夏甲說：「我從我的主母撒萊面前逃出來。」

創16:8（NCV）就問她：「撒萊的婢女夏甲啊，你從哪裡來﹖要到哪裡去﹖」夏甲回答：「我從我的主母撒萊面前逃出來。」

創16:8（CLV）主的使者對她說：「撒萊的侍女夏甲，你從哪裡來，要到哪裡去呢？」她回答說：「我是從主母撒萊那裡逃出來的。」

Genesis 16:8（KJV）And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.

Genesis 16:8（NIV）And he said, "Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?" "I'm running away from my mistress Sarai," she answered.

創16:9（UCV）耶和華的使者對她說：「你回到你主母那裡，服在她手下。」

創16:9（NCV）耶和華的使者對她說：「回到你主母那裡去，服在她的手下！」

創16:9（CLV）使者又對她說：「回到你主母那裡，好好地服從她吧。」

Genesis 16:9（KJV）And the angel of the LORD said unto her,Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.

Genesis 16:9（NIV）Then the angel of the LORD told her, "Go back to your mistress and submit to her."

創16:10（UCV）又說：「我必使你的後裔極其繁多，甚至不可勝數。」

創16:10（NCV）耶和華的使者又對她說：「我必使你的後裔人丁興旺，多到不可勝數。」

Genesis 16:10（KJV）And the angel of the LORD said unto her,I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.

Genesis 16:10（NIV）The angel added, "I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count."

創16:11（UCV）並說：「你如今懷孕，要生一個兒子，可以給他起名叫以實瑪利，因為耶和華聽見了你的苦情。﹝ 『以實瑪利』就是『　神聽見』的意思﹞。

創16:11（NCV）耶和華的使者再對她說：「看哪，你已經懷了孕，你要生一個兒子；你要給他起名叫以實瑪利，因為耶和華聽見了你的苦情。

創16:10（CLV）又說：「我必大大地增加你後代的人數，叫他們多得不能勝數。

Genesis 16:11（KJV）And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.

Genesis 16:11（NIV）The angel of the LORD also said to her: "You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery.

創16:12（UCV）他為人必像野驢；他的手要攻打人，人的手也要攻打他。他必住在眾弟兄的東邊。」

創16:12（NCV）他將來為人，必像野驢。他的手要攻打人，人的手也要攻打他。他必住在眾兄弟的東面。」

Genesis 16:12（KJV）And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

Genesis 16:12（NIV）He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers."

創16:13（UCV）夏甲就稱那對她說話的耶和華為『看顧人的　神』。因而說：「在這裡我也看見那看顧我的嗎？」

創16:13（NCV） 於是，夏甲給那對她說話的耶和華，起名叫『你是看顧人的　神』，因為她說：「在這裡我不是也看見了那位看顧人的嗎﹖」

創16:13（CLV）夏甲看見了上帝以後，竟然還能活著！於是她就稱對她說話的主為『體恤人的上帝』，

Genesis 16:13（KJV）And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?

Genesis 16:13（NIV）She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me."

創16:14（UCV）所以這井名叫庇耳拉海萊。這井正在加低斯和巴列中間。

Genesis 16:15（KJV）And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.

Genesis 16:15（NIV）So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne.

創16:16（UCV）夏甲給亞伯蘭生以實瑪利的時候，亞伯蘭年八十六歲。

Genesis 16:16（KJV）And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.

Genesis 16:16（NIV）Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.
