Genesis 20:1（KJV）And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar.

Genesis 20:1（NIV）【Abraham and Abimelech】Now Abraham moved on from there into the region of the Negev and lived between Kadesh and Shur. For a while he stayed in Gerar,

Genesis 20:2（KJV）And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.

Genesis 20:2（NIV）and there Abraham said of his wife Sarah, "She is my sister." Then Abimelech king of Gerar sent for Sarah and took her.

創20:3（UCV）但夜間，　神來在夢中對亞比米勒說：「你是個死人哪！因為你取了那女人來，她原是別人的妻子。」

創20:3（NCV）當夜，　神在夢中來到亞比米勒那裡，對他說：「你該死，因為你接來的那女人，是個有夫之婦。」

Genesis 20:3（KJV）But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife.

Genesis 20:3（NIV）But God came to Abimelech in a dream one night and said to him, "You are as good as dead because of the woman you have taken; she is a married woman."

創20:4（UCV）亞比米勒卻還沒有親近撒拉；他說：「主啊！連有義的國你也要毀滅嗎？

Genesis 20:4（KJV）But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, LORD, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation?

Genesis 20:4（NIV）Now Abimelech had not gone near her, so he said, "Lord, will you destroy an innocent nation?

創20:5（UCV）那人豈不是自己對我說『她是我的妹子』嗎？就是女人也自己說：『他是我的哥哥。』我作這事是心正手潔的。」

創20:5（NCV）那人豈不是對我說：『她是我的妹妺』嗎﹖就是那女人自己也說：『他是我的哥哥。』我作這事，是手潔心清的。」

創20:5（CLV）那人親口對我說那婦人是他的妹妹，那婦人也承認他是自己的哥哥，我這樣做根本是毫不知情的，我實在沒有半點歪心啊！」

Genesis 20:5（KJV） Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this.

Genesis 20:5（NIV）Did he not say to me, 'She is my sister,' and didn't she also say, 'He is my brother'? I have done this with a clear conscience and clean hands."

創20:6（UCV）　神在夢中對他說：「我知道你作這事是心中正直；我也攔阻了你，免得你得罪我，所以我不容你沾著她。

創20:6（NCV）　神在夢中對他說：「我也知道你作這事，是問心無愧的，所以我也阻止你，免得你得罪我。因此我不容許你接觸她。

創20:6（CLV）上帝說：「不錯，這個我也知道，就是因為這緣故我才不讓你親近她，免得你犯罪得罪我。

Genesis 20:6（KJV）And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.

Genesis 20:6（NIV）Then God said to him in the dream, "Yes, I know you did this with a clear conscience, and so I have kept you from sinning against me. That is why I did not let you touch her.

創20:7（UCV）現在你把這人的妻子歸還他；因為他是先知，他要為你禱告，使你存活。你若不歸還他，你當知道，你和你所有的人都必要死。」

創20:7（NCV）現在你要把那人的妻子還給他，因為他是先知，他要為你禱告，你才可以存活。你若不還給他，你當知道，你和所有屬你的，都死定了。」

創20:7（CLV）現在你要把那婦人歸還給她丈夫，他就會為你禱告，叫你可以生存，因為他是個先知。如果你不這樣做，你和你全國的人都要死。」

Genesis 20:7（KJV）Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.

Genesis 20:7（NIV）Now return the man's wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not return her, you may be sure that you and all yours will die."

創20:8（UCV）【亞比米勒責亞伯拉罕】亞比米勒清早起來，召了眾臣僕來，將這些事都說給他們聽，他們都甚懼怕。

Genesis 20:8（KJV）Therefore Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears: and the men were sore afraid.

Genesis 20:8（NIV）Early the next morning Abimelech summoned all his officials, and when he told them all that had happened, they were very much afraid.

創20:9（UCV）亞比米勒召了亞伯拉罕來，對他說：「你怎麼向我這樣行呢？我在甚麼事上得罪了你，你竟使我，和我國裡的人陷在大罪裡？你向我行不當行的事了！」

創20:9（CLV）亞比米勒召見亞伯拉罕，嚴辭質問他說：「我有甚麼地方得罪了你？你為甚麼要害我，做了這件你不該做的事，叫我和我的人民都落在大罪之中呢？

Genesis 20:9（KJV）Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.

Genesis 20:9（NIV）Then Abimelech called Abraham in and said, "What have you done to us? How have I wronged you that you have brought such great guilt upon me and my kingdom? You have done things to me that should not be done."

創20:10（UCV）亞比米勒又對亞伯拉罕說：「你見了甚麼才作這事呢？」

創20:10（NCV）亞比米勒又對亞伯拉罕說：「你為了甚麼緣故要這樣作呢﹖」

Genesis 20:10（KJV）And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What sawest thou, that thou hast done this thing?

Genesis 20:10（NIV）And Abimelech asked Abraham, "What was your reason for doing this?"

創20:11（UCV）亞伯拉罕說：「我以為這地方的人總不懼怕　神，必為我妻子的緣故殺我。

創20:11（NCV）亞伯拉罕回答：「因為我以為這地方必定沒有敬畏　神的人，他們會因我妻子的緣故殺我。

創20:11（CLV）亞伯拉罕回答說：「我是迫不得已才這樣做的，因為我猜想這裡的人是不敬畏上帝的，他們必會因為我妻子的緣故加害於我。

Genesis 20:11（KJV）And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake.

Genesis 20:11（NIV）Abraham replied, "I said to myself, 'There is surely no fear of God in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.'

創20:12（UCV）況且，她也實在是我的妹子；她與我是同父異母，後來作了我的妻子。

創20:12（NCV）何況她也實在是我的妹妺；她原是我同父異母的妺妺，後來作了我的妻子。

Genesis 20:12（KJV）And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.

創20:13（UCV）當　神叫我離開父家，飄流在外的時候，我對她說：『我們無論走到甚麼地方，你可以對人說：他是我的哥哥；這就是你待我的恩典了。』」

創20:13（NCV）　神叫我離開我父家，在外飄流的時候，我對她說：『我們無論到甚麼地方去，你都要對人說：「他是我的哥哥。」這就是你待我的恩情了。』」

Genesis 20:13（KJV）And it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said unto her, This is thy kindness which thou shalt shew unto me; at every place whither we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.

Genesis 20:13（NIV）And when God had me wander from my father's household, I said to her, 'This is how you can show your love to me: Everywhere we go, say of me, "He is my brother." '"

創20:14（UCV）亞比米勒把牛、羊、僕婢賜給亞伯拉罕，又把他的妻子撒拉歸還他。

Genesis 20:14（KJV）And Abimelech took sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and womenservants, and gave them unto Abraham, and restored him Sarah his wife.

Genesis 20:14（NIV）Then Abimelech brought sheep and cattle and male and female slaves and gave them to Abraham, and he returned Sarah his wife to him.

創20:15（UCV）亞比米勒又說：「看哪！我的地都在你面前，你可以隨意居住。」

創20:15（NCV）亞比米勒說：「看哪！我的國土都在你面前，你喜歡哪裡，就住在哪裡吧。」

Genesis 20:15（KJV）And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before thee: dwell where it pleaseth thee.

Genesis 20:15（NIV）And Abimelech said, "My land is before you; live wherever you like."

創20:16（UCV）又對撒拉說：「我給你哥哥一千銀子，作為你在閤家人面前遮羞的〔『羞』原文作『眼』〕，你就在眾人面前沒有不是了。」

創20:16（NCV）他又對撒拉說：「看哪！我給了你哥哥一千銀子，作你在全家人面前的遮羞錢。這樣，你在眾人面前就算清白了。」

創20:16（CLV）亞比米勒轉過來對撒拉說：「我給你哥哥一千塊銀子表示我的歉意，同時也在眾人面前作為證明你清白的憑據。」

Genesis 20:16（KJV）And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with thee, and with all other: thus she was reproved.

Genesis 20:16（NIV）To Sarah he said, "I am giving your brother a thousand shekels of silver. This is to cover the offense against you before all who are with you; you are completely vindicated."

創20:17（UCV）亞伯拉罕禱告　神，　神就醫好了亞比米勒，和他的妻子，並他的眾女僕，她們便能生育。

Genesis 20:17（KJV）So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.

Genesis 20:17（NIV）Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, his wife and his slave girls so they could have children again,

創20:18（UCV）因耶和華為亞伯拉罕的妻子撒拉的緣故，已經使亞比米勒家中的婦人不能生育。
