Genesis 30:1（KJV）And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.

Genesis 30:1（NIV）When Rachel saw that she was not bearing Jacob any children, she became jealous of her sister. So she said to Jacob, "Give me children, or I'll die!"

Genesis 30:14（NIV）During wheat harvest, Reuben went out into the fields and found some mandrake plants, which he brought to his mother Leah. Rachel said to Leah, "Please give me some of your son's mandrakes."

Genesis 30:30（KJV）For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also?

Genesis 30:30（NIV）The little you had before I came has increased greatly, and the LORD has blessed you wherever I have been. But now, when may I do something for my own household?"

創30:31（UCV）拉班說：「我當給你甚嗎呢？」雅各說：「甚嗎你也不必給我，只有一件事，你若應承，我便仍舊牧放你的羊群。

Genesis 30:32（NIV）Let me go through all your flocks today and remove from them every speckled or spotted sheep, every dark-colored lamb and every spotted or speckled goat. They will be my wages.

創30:33（UCV）以後你來查看我的工價，凡在我手裡的山羊，不是有點有斑的，綿羊不是黑色的，那就算是我偷的。這樣，便可證出我的公義來。」

Genesis 30:33（KJV）So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my hire before thy face: every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be counted stolen with me.

Genesis 30:33（NIV）And my honesty will testify for me in the future, whenever you check on the wages you have paid me. Any goat in my possession that is not speckled or spotted, or any lamb that is not dark-colored, will be considered stolen."

Genesis 30:37（KJV）And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chestnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.

Genesis 30:37（NIV）Jacob, however, took fresh-cut branches from poplar, almond and plane trees and made white stripes on them by peeling the bark and exposing the white inner wood of the branches.

創30:38（UCV）將剝了皮的枝子，對著羊群，插在飲羊的水溝裡和水槽裡。羊來喝的時候，牝牡配合。

Genesis 30:38（NIV）Then he placed the peeled branches in all the watering troughs, so that they would be directly in front of the flocks when they came to drink. When the flocks were in heat and came to drink,

創30:40（UCV）雅各把羊羔分出來，使拉班的羊與這有紋，和黑色的羊相對，把自己的羊另放一處，不叫他和拉班的羊混雜。

Genesis 30:40（KJV）And Jacob did separate the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the ringstraked, and all the brown in the flock of Laban; and he put his own flocks by themselves, and put them not unto Laban's cattle.

Genesis 30:40（NIV）Jacob set apart the young of the flock by themselves, but made the rest face the streaked and dark-colored animals that belonged to Laban. Thus he made separate flocks for himself and did not put them with Laban's animals.

Genesis 30:41（KJV）And it came to pass, whensoever the stronger cattle did conceive, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the cattle in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods.

Genesis 30:41（NIV）Whenever the stronger females were in heat, Jacob would place the branches in the troughs in front of the animals so they would mate near the branches,

創30:42（UCV）只是到羊瘦弱配合的時候，就不插枝子。這樣，瘦弱的就歸拉班，肥壯的就歸雅各。

Genesis 30:42（KJV）But when the cattle were feeble, he put them not in: so the feebler were Laban's, and the stronger Jacob's.

Genesis 30:42（NIV）but if the animals were weak, he would not place them there. So the weak animals went to Laban and the strong ones to Jacob.

創30:43（UCV）於是雅各極其發大，得了許多的羊群、僕婢、駱駝，和驢。

Genesis 30:43（NIV）In this way the man grew exceedingly prosperous and came to own large flocks, and maidservants and menservants, and camels and donkeys.
