Genesis 47:1（KJV）Then Joseph came and told Pharaoh, and said, My father and my brethren, and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, are come out of the land of Canaan; and, behold, they are in the land of Goshen.

Genesis 47:1（NIV）Joseph went and told Pharaoh, "My father and brothers, with their flocks and herds and everything they own, have come from the land of Canaan and are now in Goshen."

Genesis 47:3（NIV）Pharaoh asked the brothers, "What is your occupation?" "Your servants are shepherds," they replied to Pharaoh, "just as our fathers were."

Genesis 47:4（KJV）They said moreover unto Pharaoh, For to sojourn in the land are we come; for thy servants have no pasture for their flocks; for the famine is sore in the land of Canaan: now therefore, we pray thee, let thy servants dwell in the land of Goshen.

Genesis 47:4（NIV）They also said to him, "We have come to live here awhile, because the famine is severe in Canaan and your servants' flocks have no pasture. So now, please let your servants settle in Goshen."

Genesis 47:6（KJV）The land of Egypt is before thee; in the best of the land make thy father and brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen let them dwell: and if thou knowest any men of activity among them, then make them rulers over my cattle.

Genesis 47:6（NIV）and the land of Egypt is before you; settle your father and your brothers in the best part of the land. Let them live in Goshen. And if you know of any among them with special ability, put them in charge of my own livestock."

Genesis 47:14（NIV）Joseph collected all the money that was to be found in Egypt and Canaan in payment for the grain they were buying, and he brought it to Pharaoh's palace.

Genesis 47:15（KJV）And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for the money faileth.

Genesis 47:15（NIV）When the money of the people of Egypt and Canaan was gone, all Egypt came to Joseph and said, "Give us food. Why should we die before your eyes? Our money is used up."

創47:16（UCV）約瑟說：「若是銀子用盡了，可以把你們的牲畜給我，我就為你們的牲畜給你們糧食。」

Genesis 47:16（KJV）And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail.

Genesis 47:17（NIV）So they brought their livestock to Joseph, and he gave them food in exchange for their horses, their sheep and goats, their cattle and donkeys. And he brought them through that year with food in exchange for all their livestock.

Genesis 47:18（KJV）When that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide it from my lord, how that our money is spent; my lord also hath our herds of cattle; there is not ought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:

Genesis 47:18（NIV）When that year was over, they came to him the following year and said, "We cannot hide from our lord the fact that since our money is gone and our livestock belongs to you, there is nothing left for our lord except our bodies and our land.

創47:19（UCV）你何忍見我們人死地荒呢？求你用糧食買我們，和我們的地，我們和我們的地，就要給法老效力。又求你給我們種子，使我們得以存活，不致死亡，地土也不致荒涼。」

創47:19（NCV）為甚麼我們和我們的田地要在你面前消滅呢﹖求你用糧食買我們，和我們的田地，我們和田地就必為法老效勞了。又求你給我們穀種，使我們可以活著，不至死亡，田地也不至荒蕪。」

創47:19（CLV）難道我們要死在你面前，讓土地荒廢嗎？我們願意用自己和我們的田地來換取糧食，我們願意替法老工作，求你給我們種子，好讓我們可以活下去，不致餓死，這樣，土地也就不致丟荒了。」

Genesis 47:19（KJV）Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate.

Genesis 47:19（NIV）Why should we perish before your eyes（NIV）we and our land as well? Buy us and our land in exchange for food, and we with our land will be in bondage to Pharaoh. Give us seed so that we may live and not die, and that the land may not become desolate."

Genesis 47:22（NIV）However, he did not buy the land of the priests, because they received a regular allotment from Pharaoh and had food enough from the allotment Pharaoh gave them. That is why they did not sell their land.

Genesis 47:23（KJV）Then Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh: lo, here is seed for you, and ye shall sow the land.

Genesis 47:23（NIV）Joseph said to the people, "Now that I have bought you and your land today for Pharaoh, here is seed for you so you can plant the ground.

創47:24（UCV）後來打糧食的時候，你們要把五分之一納給法老，四分可以歸你們作地裡的種子，也作你們和你們家口孩童的食物。」

Genesis 47:24（NIV）But when the crop comes in, give a fifth of it to Pharaoh. The other four-fifths you may keep as seed for the fields and as food for yourselves and your households and your children."

Genesis 47:26（NIV）So Joseph established it as a law concerning land in Egypt--still in force today--that a fifth of the produce belongs to Pharaoh. It was only the land of the priests that did not become Pharaoh's.

Genesis 47:27（NIV）Now the Israelites settled in Egypt in the region of Goshen. They acquired property there and were fruitful and increased greatly in number.
