民13:1（CLV）主吩咐摩西說：「你要在每族當中選派一個領袖作代表，去偵察我要賜給以色列人的迦南地。」

Numbers 13:1（KJV）And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Numbers 13:1（NIV）【Exploring Canaan】The LORD said to Moses,

民13:2（UCV）「你打發人去窺探我所賜給以色列人的迦南地。他們每支派中要打發一個人，都要作首領的。」

民13:2（NCV）「你要派人窺探我賜給以色列人的迦南地；按著父家所屬的支派，每支派要派一個人，個個都必須是他們的領袖。」

Numbers 13:2（KJV）Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribeof their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.

Numbers 13:2（NIV） "Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders."

民13:3（UCV）摩西就照耶和華的吩咐，從巴蘭的曠野打發他們去，他們都是以色列人的族長。

Numbers 13:3（KJV）And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel.

Numbers 13:3（NIV）So at the LORD'S command Moses sent them out from the Desert of Paran. All of them were leaders of the Israelites.

Numbers 13:16（KJV）These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua.

Numbers 13:17（KJV）And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain:

Numbers 13:17（NIV）When Moses sent them to explore Canaan, he said, "Go up through the Negev and on into the hill country.

民13:18（UCV）看那地如何:其中所住的民是強是弱？是多是少？

民13:18（NCV）看看那地怎樣，住在那裏的人是強是弱，是多是少；

Numbers 13:18（KJV）And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many;

民13:19（UCV）所住之地是好是歹？所住之處是營盤是堅城？

Numbers 13:19（KJV）And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;

Numbers 13:19（NIV）What kind of land do they live in? Is it good or bad? What kind of towns do they live in? Are they unwalled or fortified?

民13:20（UCV）又看那地土是肥美是瘠薄？其中有樹木沒有？你們要放開膽量，把那地的果子帶些來。」（那時正是葡萄初熟的時候。）

民13:20（NCV）看看那地怎樣，是肥沃還是貧瘠，那裏有樹木沒有。你們要壯膽，把那地的果子帶些回來。」那時正是葡萄初熟的時候。

民13:20（CLV）土地是肥沃還是貧瘠，那裡有沒有樹木；現在正是葡萄初熟的季節，你們放膽設法帶當地的一些果子回來吧！」

Numbers 13:20（KJV）And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.

Numbers 13:20（NIV） How is the soil? Is it fertile or poor? Are there trees on it or not? Do your best to bring back some of the fruit of the land." (It was the season for the first ripe grapes.)

民13:21（UCV）他們上去窺探那地，從尋的曠野到利合，直到哈馬口。

Numbers 13:21（KJV）So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.

Numbers 13:21（NIV）So they went up and explored the land from the Desert of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo Hamath.

民13:22（UCV）他們從南地上去，到了希伯崙，在那裡有亞衲族人亞希幔、示篩、撻買。﹝原來希伯崙城被建造比埃及的鎖安城早七年。﹞

Numbers 13:22（KJV）And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

Numbers 13:22（NIV）They went up through the Negev and came to Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, lived. (Hebron had been built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)

民13:23（UCV）他們到了以實各谷，從那裡砍了葡萄樹的一枝，上頭有一掛葡萄，兩個人用槓抬著，又帶了些石榴，和無花果來。

Numbers 13:23（KJV）And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs.

Numbers 13:23（NIV）When they reached the Valley of Eshcol, they cut off a branch bearing a single cluster of grapes. Two of them carried it on a pole between them, along with some pomegranates and figs.

民13:24（UCV）因為以色列人從那裡砍來的那掛葡萄，所以那地方叫作以實各谷。

Numbers 13:24（KJV）The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence.

民13:25（UCV）【偵察者匯報】過了四十天，他們窺探那地才回來。

民13:25（NCV）【探子回報（申1:26-33） 】四十天以後，他們窺探那地完畢，就回來。

民13:25（CLV）過了四十天，他們偵察完了就回到巴蘭荒野的加低斯去見摩西、亞倫和以色列全會眾，向他們回報，並且把當地的果子給大家看。

Numbers 13:25（KJV）And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.

Numbers 13:25（NIV）At the end of forty days they returned from exploring the land.

Numbers 13:26（KJV）And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.

Numbers 13:26（NIV）【Report on the Exoloration】They came back to Moses and Aaron and the whole Israelite community at Kadesh in the Desert of Paran. There they reported to them and to the whole assembly and showed them the fruit of the land.

民13:27（UCV）又告訴摩西說:「我們到了你所打發我們去的那地，果然是流奶與密之地，這就是那地的果子。

民13:27（NCV）他們告訴摩西:「我們到了你派我們去的那地，果然是流奶與蜜的地，這就是那地的果子。

民13:27（CLV）他們向摩西報告說：「我們走到你派我們去的那地方，那裡實在是一個到處是奶和蜜、出產豐富的好地方；這些都是那裡的產品。

Numbers 13:27（KJV）And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.

Numbers 13:27（NIV）They gave Moses this account: "We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit.

民13:28（UCV）然而住那地的民強壯，城邑也堅固寬大，並且我們在那裡看見了亞衲族的人。

民13:28（NCV）只是住在那地的人強壯，城又堅固又十分高大，並且我們在那裏也看見了亞衲族人的後裔。

Numbers 13:28（KJV）Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.

Numbers 13:28（NIV）But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there.

民13:29（UCV）亞瑪力人住在南地，赫人、耶布斯人、亞摩利人住在山地，迦南人住在海邊並約但河旁。」

民13:29（NCV）有亞瑪力人住在南地；赫人、耶布斯人、亞摩利人住在山地；迦南人住在海邊和約旦河沿岸。」

Numbers 13:29（KJV）The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.

Numbers 13:29（NIV）The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan."

民13:30（UCV）迦勒在摩西面前安撫百姓說:「我們立刻上去得那地吧！我們足能得勝。」

民13:30（NCV）迦勒在摩西面前使眾人鎮靜，說:「我們立刻上去，佔領那地吧！因為我們必能得勝。」

民13:30（CLV）迦勒在摩西面前安定民眾，說：「我們就上去攻佔那地方吧，我們一定勝利的！」

Numbers 13:30（KJV）And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.

Numbers 13:30（NIV）Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it."

民13:31（UCV）但那些和他同去的人說:「我們不能上去攻擊那民，因為他們比我們強壯。」

民13:31（NCV）但是，那些與他同去的人卻說:「我們不能上去攻擊那民，因為他們比我們強。」

Numbers 13:31（KJV）But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

Numbers 13:31（NIV）But the men who had gone up with him said, "We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are."

民13:32（UCV）探子中有人論到所窺探之地，向以色列人報惡信，說:「我們所窺探經過之地，是吞吃居民之地，我們在那裡所看見的人民都身量高大。

民13:32（NCV）那些探子就他們窺探之地向以色列人報惡信，說:「我們經過要窺探的地方，是個吞吃居民的地方；我們在那裏看見的人，個個都高大。

民13:32（CLV）他們還在以色列人當中危言聳聽，說：「我們所偵察的地方是個會吞噬人的地方。我們看見的人都是身材非常高大的巨人。

Numbers 13:32（KJV）And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

Numbers 13:32（NIV）And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size.

民13:33（UCV）我們在那裡看見亞衲族人，就是偉人（他們是偉人的後裔）。據我們看自己就如蚱蜢一樣，據他們看我們也是如此。」

Numbers 13:33（KJV）And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

Numbers 13:33（NIV） We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them."
