民21:1（UCV）住南地的迦南人亞拉得王，聽說以色列人從亞他林路來，就和以色列人爭戰，擄了他們幾個人。

Numbers 21:1（KJV）And when king Arad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the south, heard tell that Israel came by the way of the spies; then he fought against Israel, and took some of them prisoners.

Numbers 21:1（NIV）【Arad Destroyed】When the Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev, heard that Israel was coming along the road to Atharim, he attacked the Israelites and captured some of them.

民21:2（UCV）以色列人向耶和華發願說：「你若將這民交付我手，我就把他們的城邑盡行毀滅。」

Numbers 21:2（KJV）And Israel vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou wilt indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.

Numbers 21:2（NIV）Then Israel made this vow to the LORD: "If you will deliver these people into our hands, we will totally destroy their cities."

民21:3（UCV）耶和華應允了以色列人，把迦南人交付他們，他們就把迦南人，和迦南人的城邑盡行毀滅。那地方的名便叫何珥瑪〔就是『毀滅』的意思〕。

民21:3（NCV）耶和華聽了以色列人的祈求，就把迦南人交給他們，於是他們把迦南人，和他們的城盡行毀滅；那地方的名就叫何珥瑪。

民21:3（CLV）主答應了他們的祈求，幫助他們打敗迦南人；於是以色列人就徹底毀滅了迦南人和他們的城邑；因此就稱那地為何珥瑪，就是毀滅的意思。

Numbers 21:3（KJV）And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah.

Numbers 21:3（NIV）The LORD listened to Israel's plea and gave the Canaanites over to them. They completely destroyed them and their towns; so the place was named Hormah.

民21:4（UCV）【火蛇與銅蛇】他們從何珥山起行，往紅海那條路走，要繞過以東地。百姓因這路難行，心中甚是煩燥，

Numbers 21:4（KJV）And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.

Numbers 21:4（NIV）【The Bronze Snake】They traveled from Mount Hor along the route to the Red Sea, to go around Edom. But the people grew impatient on the way;

民21:5（UCV）就怨讟　神和摩西說：「你們為甚麼把我們從埃及領出來，使我們死在曠野呢？這裏沒有糧，沒有水，我們的心厭惡這淡薄的食物。」

民21:5（NCV）就反抗　神和摩西，說：「你們為甚麼把我們從埃及領上來，使我們死在曠野呢﹖這裏沒有糧食，又沒有水，我們的心厭惡這淡薄的食物。」

民21:5（CLV）埋怨上帝和摩西說：「你們為甚麼把我們從埃及帶出來，叫我們死在荒野呢？這裡沒有好吃的，又沒有水喝，這些粗劣的食物實在討厭極了！」

Numbers 21:5（KJV）And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

Numbers 21:5（NIV）they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the desert? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!"

民21:6（UCV）於是耶和華使火蛇進入百姓中間，蛇就咬他們，以色列人中死了許多。

民21:6（NCV）於是耶和華打發火蛇進入人民中間；蛇咬他們，許多以色列人就死了。

Numbers 21:6（KJV）And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

民21:7（UCV）百姓到摩西那裏說：「我們怨讟耶和華和你，有罪了。求你禱告耶和華，叫這些蛇離開我們。」於是摩西為百姓禱告。

民21:7（NCV）人民來見摩西，說：「我們有罪了，因為我們出惡言攻擊耶和華和你；求你向耶和華禱告，叫這些蛇離開我們。」於是摩西為眾人禱告。

Numbers 21:7（KJV）Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.

Numbers 21:7（NIV）The people came to Moses and said, "We sinned when we spoke against the LORD and against you. Pray that the LORD will take the snakes away from us." So Moses prayed for the people.

民21:8（UCV）耶和華對摩西說：「你製造一條火蛇，掛在杆子上，凡被咬的，一望這蛇，就必得活。」

Numbers 21:9（KJV）And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

Numbers 21:9（NIV）So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, he lived.

Numbers 21:11（KJV）And they journeyed from Oboth, and pitched at Ijeabarim, in the wilderness which is before Moab, toward the sunrising.

Numbers 21:11（NIV）Then they set out from Oboth and camped in Iye Abarim, in the desert that faces Moab toward the sunrise.

Numbers 21:13（NIV）They set out from there and camped alongside the Arnon, which is in the desert extending into Amorite territory. The Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.

Numbers 21:18（KJV）The princes digged the well, the nobles of the people digged it, by the direction of the lawgiver, with their staves. And from the wilderness they went to Mattanah:

Numbers 21:23（NIV）But Sihon would not let Israel pass through his territory. He mustered his entire army and marched out into the desert against Israel. When he reached Jahaz, he fought with Israel.
