Numbers 23:1（KJV）And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams.

Numbers 23:1（NIV）【Balaam's First Oracle】 Balaam said, "Build me seven altars here, and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me."

民23:2（UCV）巴勒照巴蘭的話行了。巴勒和巴蘭在每座壇上獻一隻公牛，一隻公羊。

Numbers 23:2（KJV）And Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram.

Numbers 23:2（NIV）Balak did as Balaam said, and the two of them offered a bull and a ram on each altar.

Numbers 23:3（KJV）And Balaam said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go: peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place.

Numbers 23:3（NIV）Then Balaam said to Balak, "Stay here beside your offering while I go aside. Perhaps the LORD will come to meet with me. Whatever he reveals to me I will tell you." Then he went off to a barren height.

Numbers 23:4（KJV）And God met Balaam: and he said unto him, I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered upon every altar a bullock and a ram.

Numbers 23:7（KJV）And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.

Numbers 23:7（NIV）Then Balaam uttered his oracle: "Balak brought me from Aram, the king of Moab from the eastern mountains. 'Come,' he said, 'curse Jacob for me; come, denounce Israel.'

民23:8（UCV）　神沒有咒詛的，我焉能咒詛？耶和華沒有怒罵的，我焉能怒罵？

Numbers 23:8（KJV）How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied?

Numbers 23:8（NIV）How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce those whom the LORD has not denounced?

民23:9（UCV）我從高峰看他，從小山望他；這是獨居的民，不列在萬民中。

民23:9（NCV）我從高峰觀看他們，從山上眺望他們；這是獨居的民族，不列在萬國之中。

Numbers 23:9（KJV）For from the top of the rocks I see him, and from the hills I behold him: lo, the people shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.

Numbers 23:9（NIV）From the rocky peaks I see them, from the heights I view them. I see a people who live apart and do not consider themselves one of the nations.

民23:10（UCV）誰能數點雅各的塵土？誰能計算以色列的四分之一？我願如義人之死而死，我願如義人之終而終。」

民23:11（UCV）巴勒對巴蘭說：「你向我作的是甚麼事呢？我領你來咒詛我的仇敵，不料，你竟為他們祝福。」

民23:11（NCV）巴勒對巴蘭說：「你向我作的是甚麼事呢？我領你來咒詛我的仇敵，你反倒給他們祝福。」

民23:11（CLV）巴勒對巴蘭說：「你在幹甚麼啊？我請你來咒詛我的敵人，你卻竟然祝福他們！」

Numbers 23:11（KJV）And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether.

Numbers 23:11（NIV）Balak said to Balaam, "What have you done to me? I brought you to curse my enemies, but you have done nothing but bless them!"

民23:12（UCV）他回答說：「耶和華傳給我的話，我能不謹慎傳說麼？」

民23:12（NCV）巴蘭回答，說：「耶和華傳給我的話，我怎能不謹慎說呢﹖」

Numbers 23:12（KJV）And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD hath put in my mouth?

Numbers 23:12（NIV）He answered, "Must I not speak what the LORD puts in my mouth?"

民23:13（UCV）【巴蘭再次作詩說預言】巴勒說：「求你同我往別處去，在那裏可以看見他們，你不能全看見，只能看見他們邊界上的人。在那裏要為我咒詛他們。」

民23:13（NCV）巴勒對巴蘭說：「請你與我到另一個地方去，從那裏你可以看見他們；不過你不能看見他們全部，只能看見他們邊界的一部分；在那裏你要為我咒詛他們。」

Numbers 23:13（KJV）And Balak said unto him, Come, I pray thee, with me unto another place, from whence thou mayest see them: thou shalt see but the utmost part of them, and shalt not see them all: and curse me them from thence.

Numbers 23:13（NIV）【Balaam's Second Oracle】Then Balak said to him, "Come with me to another place where you can see them; you will see only a part but not all of them. And from there, curse them for me."

民23:16（UCV）耶和華臨到巴蘭那裏，將話傳給他，又說：「你回到巴勒那裏，要如此如此說。」

Numbers 23:16（KJV）And the LORD met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, Go again unto Balak, and say thus.

Numbers 23:16（NIV）The LORD met with Balaam and put a message in his mouth and said, "Go back to Balak and give him this message."

民23:17（UCV）他就回到巴勒那裏，見他站在燔祭旁邊，摩押的使臣也和他在一處。巴勒問他說：「耶和華說了甚麼話呢？」

民23:17（NCV）巴蘭回到巴勒那裏，見他站在自己的燔祭旁邊，摩押的領袖也與他在那裏。巴勒問巴蘭：「耶和華說了甚麼話呢﹖」

民23:17（CLV）他就回到巴勒那裡，看見他和摩押的使者都站在燔祭旁邊，巴勒就問他主說了些甚麼。

Numbers 23:17（KJV）And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, What hath the LORD spoken?

Numbers 23:17（NIV）So he went to him and found him standing beside his offering, with the princes of Moab. Balak asked him, "What did the LORD say?"

Numbers 23:18（KJV）And he took up his parable, and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear; hearken unto me, thou son of Zippor:

Numbers 23:18（NIV）Then he uttered his oracle: "Arise, Balak, and listen; hear me, son of Zippor.

民23:19（UCV）　神非人，必不致說謊。也非人子，必不致後悔。祂說話豈不照著行呢？祂發言豈不要成就呢？

民23:19（NCV）　神不是人，必不致說謊，也不是人子，必不致後悔。他說話，怎能不作？他發言，怎能不作成﹖

民23:19（CLV）上帝不會像人一樣說謊，也不會像人一樣悔恨自己的作為。祂說了的哪有不行出來的呢？祂答應過的又怎會落空呢？

Numbers 23:19（KJV）God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Numbers 23:19（NIV）God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

民23:20（UCV）我奉命祝福，　神也曾賜福，此事我不能翻轉。

Numbers 23:20（KJV）Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

民23:21（UCV）祂未見雅各中有罪孽；也未見以色列中有奸惡。耶和華他的　神，和他同在；有歡呼王的聲音在他們中間。

民23:21（NCV）在雅各中不見罪孽，在以色列中也不見患難；耶和華他們的　神與他們同在，有君王歡呼的聲音在他們中間。

Numbers 23:21（KJV）He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.

Numbers 23:21（NIV）"No misfortune is seen in Jacob, no misery observed in Israel. The LORD their God is with them; the shout of the King is among them.

Numbers 23:23（KJV）Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!

民23:24（UCV）這民起來彷彿母獅，挻身好像公獅，未曾吃野食，未曾喝被傷者之血，決不躺臥。」

Numbers 23:24（KJV）Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drink the blood of the slain.

Numbers 23:24（NIV）The people rise like a lioness; they rouse themselves like a lion that does not rest till he devours his prey and drinks the blood of his victims."

民23:26（UCV）巴蘭回答巴勒說：「我豈不是告訴你說，凡耶和華所說的，我必須遵行嗎？」

民23:26（NCV）巴蘭回答巴勒說：「我不是告訴過你說：『耶和華吩咐我的，我都必要遵行』嗎﹖」

民23:26（CLV）巴蘭回答說：「我不是曾經說過嗎？主所說的，我是必須照辦的。」

Numbers 23:26（KJV）But Balaam answered and said unto Balak, Told not I thee, saying, All that the LORD speaketh, that I must do?
