The LORD Commands Joshua

書1:1--當代中譯本

　上帝的僕人摩西死了以後，上帝就對摩西的助手嫩的兒子約書亞說：

　Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua ua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

　 After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' aide:

　「我的僕人摩西已經死了，現在你去接替他，領導全體人民渡過約旦河，到我要賜給以色列人的地方去吧。

　Mosesmy servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

　Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.

　"Go through the camp and tell the people, 'Get your supplies ready. Three days from now you will cross the Jordan here to go in and take possession of the land the LORD your God is giving you for your own.'"

　Whosoever he be that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.

　Whoever rebels against your word and does not obey your words, whatever you may command them, will be put to death. Only be strong and courageous!"
