雅3:1（UCV）【要制伏自己的舌頭】我的弟兄們，不要多人作師傅，因為曉得我們要受更重的判斷。

雅3:1（NCV）【要制伏舌頭】我的弟兄們，你們不應該有太多人作教師，因為知道我們作教師的將受更嚴厲的審判。

雅3:1（CLV）弟兄姊妹啊，「人之患在好為人師！」不要喜歡指正別人，要知道我們為人師表的，將要受到的批評比別人更嚴厲，

James 3:1（KJV）My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

James 3:1（NIV）【Taming the Tongue】Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

雅3:2（UCV）原來我們在許多事上都有過失；若有人在話語上沒有過失，他就是完全人，也能勒住自己的全身。

雅3:2（NCV）我們在許多的事上都有過錯，假如有人在言語上沒有過錯，他就是完全的人，也能夠控制全身。

雅3:2（CLV）因為我們在許多方面都難免有過失。如果有人在言語上沒有過失，就足以證明他在各方面都能自制了，這才算是完全人。

James 3:2（KJV）For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

James 3:2（NIV） We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.

雅3:3（UCV）我們若把嚼環放在馬嘴裏，叫它順服，就能調動它的全身。

雅3:3（NCV）我們若把嚼環扣入馬嘴，使牠們馴服，就能駕馭牠們的全身。

雅3:3（CLV）比如我們把嚼環放在馬嘴裡，便可以使牠馴服，任意驅策了。

James 3:3（KJV）Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

James 3:3（NIV） When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal.

雅3:4（UCV）看哪！船隻雖然甚大，又被大風催逼，只用小小的舵，就隨著掌舵的意思轉動。

雅3:4（NCV）試看，船隻雖然甚大，又被狂風催逼，舵手只用小小的舵，就可以隨意操縱。

雅3:4（CLV）再舉一個例子，一艘大船在遭遇暴風吹襲時，船身雖然龐大，但舵手只要操縱一個小小的舵，就能隨意駕駛。

James 3:4（KJV）Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

James 3:4（NIV） Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.

雅3:5（UCV）這樣，舌頭在百體裏也是最小的，卻能說大話。看哪！最小的火能點著最大的樹林；

雅3:5（NCV）照樣，舌頭雖然是個小肢體，卻會說誇大的話。試看，星星之火，可以燎原；

雅3:5（CLV）同樣，人的舌頭雖然是身體上一個很小的器官，卻能說誇大的話，所謂「星星之火，可以燎原」。

James 3:5（KJV）Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

James 3:5（NIV） Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.

雅3:6（UCV）舌頭就是火，在我們百體中，舌頭是個罪惡的世界，能污穢全身，也能把生命的輪子點起來，並且是從地獄裏點著的。

雅3:6（NCV）舌頭就是火，在我們百體中，是個不義的世界，能污穢全身，把整個生命在運轉中焚燒起來，而且是被地獄之火點燃的。

雅3:6（CLV）舌頭就是火，在我們身體中代表一個充滿邪惡的領域，能污穢人的全身，影響人的整個生活圈子；而且這火是從地獄來的！

James 3:6（KJV）And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

James 3:6（NIV） The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

雅3:7（UCV）各類的走獸、飛禽、昆蟲、水族，本來都可以制伏，也已經被人制伏了；

雅3:7（NCV）各類飛禽、走獸、昆蟲、水族，都可以馴服，而且都已經被人類制伏了；

雅3:7（CLV）自然界中的各類飛禽走獸、昆蟲水族，人類都可以制伏，其實已經制伏了；

James 3:7（KJV）For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

James 3:7（NIV） All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man,

雅3:8（UCV）惟獨舌頭沒有人能制伏，是不止息的惡物，滿了害死人的毒氣。

雅3:8（NCV）可是沒有人能夠制伏舌頭；它是喋喋不休的惡物，充滿了致命的毒素。

雅3:8（CLV）但是至今仍沒有人能把自己的舌頭制伏，因為舌頭是個不停止活動的惡東西，充滿致命的毒素。

James 3:8（KJV）But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

James 3:8（NIV） but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

雅3:9（UCV）我們用舌頭頌讚那為主、為父的，又用舌頭咒詛那照著　神形像被造的人。

雅3:9（NCV）我們用它來稱頌我們的主和天父，又用它來咒詛照　神的形象被造的人。

雅3:9（CLV）我們用這張嘴來讚美我們的主、我們的天父，竟然又用這張嘴來咒罵照著上帝的形像造成的人！

James 3:9（KJV）Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

James 3:9（NIV） With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness.

雅3:10（UCV）頌讚和咒詛從一個口裏出來，我的弟兄們，這是不應當的。

雅3:10（NCV）同一張嘴竟然又稱頌主，又咒詛人；我的弟兄們，這是不應該的！

雅3:10（CLV）弟兄姊妹啊，讚美和咒罵竟然從同一張嘴裡發出來，這是不應該的。

James 3:10（KJV）Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

James 3:10（NIV） Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.

雅3:11（UCV）泉源從一個眼裏能發出甜苦兩樣的水嗎？

雅3:11（NCV）同一泉眼裡能夠湧出甜水和苦水來嗎﹖

雅3:11（CLV）請問，同一個水泉能湧出甜苦兩樣水嗎？

James 3:11（KJV）Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

James 3:11（NIV） Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?

雅3:12（UCV）我的弟兄們，無花果樹能生橄欖嗎？葡萄樹能結無花果嗎？鹹水裏也不能發出甜水來。

雅3:12（NCV）我的弟兄們，無花果樹能結橄欖嗎？葡萄樹能長無花果嗎？鹹水也不能發出甜水來。

雅3:12（CLV）無花果樹能結出橄欖嗎？葡萄樹能長出無花果嗎？一個鹹的水泉也必不能流出甜水來。

James 3:12（KJV）Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

James 3:12（NIV） My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

雅3:13（UCV）【論從上頭來的智慧】你們中間誰是有智慧、有見識的呢？他就當在智慧的溫柔上顯出他的善行來。

雅3:13（NCV）【從天上來的智慧】你們中間誰是有智慧、有見識的呢？他就應當有美好的生活，用明智的溫柔，把自己的行為表現出來。

雅3:13（CLV）你們當中誰是有智慧，誰是有學識的呢？請他在善行上，把他因智慧而有的溫柔謙遜表現出來。

James 3:13（KJV）Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

James 3:13（NIV）【Two Kinds of Wisdom】Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

雅3:14（UCV）你們心裏若懷著苦毒的嫉妒和分爭，就不可自誇，也不可說謊話抵擋真道。

雅3:14（NCV）如果你們心中存著刻薄的嫉妒和自私，就不可誇口，也不可說謊抵擋真理。

雅3:14（CLV）如果你們裡面還有惡毒嫉妒的心和結黨營私的野心，就不要自誇說有智慧，也不要違背真理去撒謊；

James 3:14（KJV）But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

James 3:14（NIV） But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.

雅3:15（UCV）這樣的智慧不是從上頭來的，乃是屬地的，屬情慾的、屬鬼魔的。

雅3:15（NCV）這種智慧不是從天上來的，而是屬地的、屬血氣的和屬鬼魔的。

雅3:15（CLV）因為你們這種智慧絕不是從上帝而來，乃是從世界而來，發自卑劣的本性，是屬於魔鬼的。

James 3:15（KJV）This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

James 3:15（NIV） Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil.

雅3:16（UCV）在何處有嫉妒紛爭，就在何處有擾亂和各樣的壞事。

雅3:16（NCV）因為凡有嫉妒和自私的地方，就必有擾亂和各樣的壞事。

雅3:16（CLV）這種壞的心腸，無論在甚麼時候形成，就會有混亂和各樣的壞事發生。

James 3:16（KJV）For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

James 3:16（NIV） For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

雅3:17（UCV）惟獨從上頭來的智慧，先是清潔，後是和平，溫良柔順，滿有憐憫，多結善果，沒有偏見，沒有假冒。

雅3:17（NCV）至於從天上來的智慧，首先是純潔的，其次是和平的，溫柔的，謙遜的，滿有恩慈和善果，沒有偏袒，沒有虛偽。

雅3:17（CLV）但那從天上來的智慧，一定是先以純潔為首，然後是愛好和平，溫良柔順，滿有憐憫，多結善果，不存偏見，沒有虛偽。

James 3:17（KJV）But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

James 3:17（NIV） But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

雅3:18（UCV）並且使人和平的，是用和平所栽種的義果。

雅3:18（NCV）這是締造和平的人，用和平所培植出來的義果。

雅3:18（CLV）那些和平使者所栽種的和平種子，能夠收成仁義的果實。

James 3:18（KJV） And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

James 3:18（NIV） Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.
